Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Shorties (the "Service"), operated by ULADZISLAU ZHURAULIOU ("we", "us", "our"), based in Poland. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, including the laws of the European Union.

1. The Service

Shorties is a web application that helps you generate short video clips ("shorts") from longer source videos, including automatic clip detection, subtitles and text presets, edit styles synced to music, titles, multiple output formats and export of projects for Adobe After Effects. Shorties is not affiliated with or endorsed by Adobe. Changes to the Service are described in Section 12.

2. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.
  • You may sign in using third-party authentication (e.g. Google). Your use of that provider is subject to its own terms.

3. Credits

  • Processing in the Service is paid for with credits (displayed as stars in the app). Credits are included in subscription plans and can also be bought as one-time top-ups.
  • Current rate. At the time of writing, processing costs one (1) credit per started minute of source video. The number of credits a given generation consumes can also depend on the options you choose, such as output formats, features and processing modes.
  • Changes to the rate. The Service relies on third-party AI models (including large language models) whose prices are outside our control. We may change the number of credits charged per minute of video, or for a specific feature, when the cost of providing it changes — for example, due to changes in AI model or infrastructure prices, taxes or applicable law.
  • Processing modes. We may introduce processing modes that consume more or fewer than one credit per minute of source video, for example modes that use more capable or more economical AI models.
  • You always see the cost first. The credit cost of a generation is shown before you start it. Credits are only deducted for generations you confirm, at the cost shown at that moment. A change in rates never applies retroactively to generations you have already started.
  • Credits are not money, have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts and are not refundable except as described in our Refund Policy or required by law. Credits do not expire; however, spending them requires an active subscription.

4. Subscriptions, Prices and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Monthly plans add their credit allowance on each renewal. Yearly plans add the full year of credits at the start of the subscription.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars. Applicable taxes, such as VAT, are calculated at checkout based on your location, and the total price is shown before you pay.
  • Top-ups add credits to an active subscription and do not extend access on their own.

Changes to subscription prices

We may change the prices of our subscription plans, or the credits and features included in them, in the future — for example, to reflect changes in the cost of AI models, infrastructure, taxes or the scope of the Service. If a change affects your active subscription:

  • we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the change applies to you;
  • the change takes effect only from your next billing period after that notice — never during a period you have already paid for;
  • you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect, free of charge. If you do not cancel, the new price applies from your next renewal.

Price reductions and new plans may apply immediately. Prices for new customers are those shown on the website at the time of purchase.

5. Payments and Merchant of Record

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for transactions and handles billing, tax collection and payment processing. By making a purchase you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms. We do not see or store your full payment card details. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Unlimited Features and Fair Use

Some plans include features described as "unlimited", such as After Effects export and re-renders on the Premium and Ultimate plans. "Unlimited" means there is no fixed monthly cap for normal, personal or professional use of your account. To keep the Service reliable for everyone, the following is not permitted for unlimited features:

  • automated or scripted requests, or use that is clearly not initiated by a person;
  • sharing one account between multiple people or reselling access;
  • usage that is materially disproportionate to normal creative use and degrades the Service for other users.

If we believe your usage breaches this policy, we will contact you first and give you a reasonable opportunity to adjust it before applying any temporary rate limits. Fair use limits do not affect credits, which are always charged as described in Section 3.

7. Your Content

  • You retain ownership of the videos and other materials you upload ("Your Content").
  • You grant us a limited license to store, process and transform Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.
  • You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to Your Content and that processing it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.
  • You are solely responsible for the content you upload and the shorts you publish.
  • Generated results are stored for the period stated in your plan, after which they may be deleted. Please download anything you want to keep.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • upload or generate content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors;
  • violate the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
  • resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these rules. Where reasonable, we will tell you the reason and give you a chance to respond.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding. After Effects is a trademark of Adobe Inc.

10. Quality of the Service and Your Statutory Rights

We work to keep the Service available and working as described, but we cannot guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated output will match your creative expectations in every case. If you are a consumer, you benefit from the legal guarantee that digital services conform to the contract, as provided by applicable law (including EU Directive 2019/770 as implemented in your country). These Terms do not exclude or limit those rights. If a generation fails due to a fault on our side, we will restore the credits it consumed.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or revenue, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. These limitations do not apply to damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, to injury to life, body or health, or to any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.

12. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may improve and change the Service — for example, add, update or replace features, AI models or processing modes — to keep it working, secure and up to date. If a change to a paid feature materially and negatively affects your use of the Service, we will inform you in advance, and you may cancel your subscription free of charge within 30 days of the change.

We may update these Terms for valid reasons, such as changes to the Service, to our costs or to the law. We will notify you of material changes by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect; changes do not apply retroactively.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms as described in Sections 6 and 8. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, and we may delete your data subject to our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. Before going to court, we encourage you to contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
